Students are accepted into the University Honors Program (UHP) every fall semester on a space-available basis. Applying for admission requires submitting an online application, including two short essay questions.

Please note that admission is highly competitive. The mean GPA for fall 2009 non-freshman students admitted to the program was 3.86. Admitted students also showed a strong interest in becoming involved with research.

Priority deadline for current U of M—Twin Cities students: January 5, 2010
Full consideration will be given to all complete applications received by the priority deadline. Students will be notified of their admission decision by March 1. Admitted students will be required to meet with their Honors advisor prior to the start of the fall 2010 term.
