Non-Course Honors Experiences

Honors Requirements Are Changing!

New requirements—including those pertaining to Honors Experiences, the Honors Thesis, and more—will go into effect at the beginning of the Fall 2018 semester. These revised requirements will apply to students who enter UHP Fall 2018 or later; students who began UHP in Fall 2017 or earlier will continue to use the requirements as listed below. Participation in a distinctive educational opportunity outside of the classroom may count as an Honors Experience. These experiences must exhibit significant levels of participation and adhere to non-course Honors Experience guidelines in order to be approved. You should discuss all non-course options with your honors advisor.

Experience Approval Process

Most non-course special learning experiences must receive special approval.

  1. To get an idea of the types of learning experiences that are generally approved, review the non-course Honors Experience guidelines and resources listed on this page.
  2. Discuss any prospective experience with your honors advsior.
  3. At the end of each semester, use the Semester Honors Summary Form to document your experiences.
