The University Honors Program is pleased to host an annual Honors Recognition Ceremony. All students graduating with Latin Honors will be recognized for their dedication to learning, research, and the experiences that have placed them on the path to become our newest leaders and scholars.
The 2017 ceremony will be held at 7pm on Thursday, May 4th, in Northrop Memorial Auditorium. Each student will receive a certificate, signed by President Kaler and the Director of the University Honors Program, and a medallion to be worn at their college graduation ceremony. This is a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to celebrate your accomplishments as an honors student. A reception will follow the ceremony. Please stay posted for details early in the Spring 2017 semester.
Joel Kramer, co-founder of MinnPost, will join us as the keynote speaker for the 2017 Honors Recognition Ceremony!
Joel's impressive career journalism was highlighted by his work editing two investigative projects that won Pulitzer Prizes—one at Newsday and one at the Star Tribune. Joel co-founded MinnPost with his wife, Laurie, and served as CEO and Editor from its inception in 2007 until 2016.
On the civic front, Joel currently chairs Minnesota Jewish Media, which publishes The American Jewish World. He is past board chair of three nonprofits—Children's Theatre Company, Achieve Minneapolis, and Growth & Justice. He and Laurie are members of the 1% Club, which means they promise to contribute 1% of their net worth every year to philanthropic causes.
