Capstone Considerations

All students, including Honors students, take GWSS 4107 and 4108. Honors students are expected to go above and beyond the requirements of a non-honors capstone project in writing their thesis and subsequently presenting it at a departmental colloquium (at which thesis committee members need not be present unless the thesis is summa level).

Thesis Requirements

Summa students must present their work with all three committee members present and then pass a Q&A with the committee after the presentation.

Plan C Thesis Options

All students have the option of doing an Honors thesis comprising an original film, visual-arts exhibition, and/or performance. All such projects will be considered to rise to the level of summa cum laude. Summa students must present their work with all three committee members present and then pass a Q&A with the committee after the presentation.
