Thesis Requirements

The Carlson School of Management offers two paths to a thesis:

  • a research-based project completed through BA 4992V OR
  • Plan C -- participation in an Enterprise Program with HCOL 3101H/3102H (Available starting Fall 2024)

Only the research-based project is eligible for summa cum laude and will be judged via a rubric, with details made available in BA 4992V.

Plan C Thesis Options

OPTION AVAILABLE BEGINNING FALL 2024

Students may complete a cum laude or magna cum laude thesis through participation in a Carlson School Enterprise Program. In addition to their participation, students are expected to write up a brief (1-2-page) summary of their contribution to the project to be submitted with the Thesis Completion workflow. Application is required to a Carlson School Enterprise Program.

Note: Students completing a plan C project should take HCOL 3101H or 3102H rather than BA 4992V to satisfy their thesis course requirement.
