Capstone Considerations

All students must take URBS 3955W as a capstone course. Honors students also will complete an Honors thesis on a topic consistent with the major and that fulfills the expectations outlined by the University Honors Program.

Thesis Requirements

Summa theses require a public presentation of the research (in the supervisor's department, at a conference, etc.). Summa designation will be reserved for theses that represent a degree of sophistication and originality found in peer-reviewed scholarly work, with a length or word count appropriate to the subfield in which the student is working, as determined by the student's Honors Thesis Committee.
