Schwarzman Scholarship

For one year of study with a cohort of international students at Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Students will complete a master's degree in one of three areas while completing an experiential curriculum that involves internships, mentoring, cultural activities and travel, as well as seminars with top scholars from around the globe. Applicants must be between 18 and 28 but may be citizens of any country. Knowledge of Mandarin is not required. 100 scholars will be chosen in the first year with 45 from the U.S., 35 from China, and 20 from the rest of the world. A campus nomination is not required, but enrolled students must have an assessment form completed by the Office of National and International Scholarships. Undergraduates intending to begin graduate study directly after graduation should begin the application process in the spring of their JUNIOR year.

This scholarship does not require a nomination from the University of Minnesota. The Office for National and International Scholarships consults with interested students on assembling competitive applications, helps them prepare for interviews or other stages of the selection process as necessary, and publicizes results.
