Provides generous support up to $42,000 per year toward a two-year Master's degree for students representing all ethnic and social backgrounds who are interested in becoming Foreign Service Officers. Applicants must be U.S. citizens with GPA of 3.2 or higher. Consideration is given to financial need and to significant leadership and service activities. Applicants must be SENIORS or GRADUATES seeking admission to an appropriate graduate program for the following fall. The Fellowships also include two summer internships with the State Department carry a service obligation.
This scholarship does not require a nomination from the University of Minnesota. The Office for National and International Scholarships consults with interested students on assembling competitive applications, helps them prepare for interviews or other stages of the selection process as necessary, and publicizes results.
