Capstone Considerations
All Honors students compete a one-hour oral exam with their three committee members on the topic of their thesis, which — except for summa students — is the only element exceeding the requirements of the capstone project for non-Honors students.
Thesis Requirements
Summa students submit as part of their thesis proposal form a paragraph detailing how their project surpasses the bounds of the requirements spelled out for capstone projects and cum laude/ magna cum laude theses. Hence, students and thesis advisors work together to determine what is best for each student's project.
