Required Thesis Course

AST 4299H (1 credit), Astrophysics Colloquium Series (weekly seminars on Fridays, 2:30-3:30pm, usually in Tate 301-20.) We recommend that this course is taken the term prior to completing the Senior Thesis.  If a student has a time conflict with the Colloquium, an alternative is to take HCOL 3101H or 3102H.  AST 4994W is the Astrophysics Senior Thesis research project [2-5 credits], and is required of all Astrophysics majors, regardless if they also major or minor in other programs. To initiate an AST 4994W, the student should contact an Astrophysics faculty member they would like to do research with, and then fill out a WorkFlowGen form after consultation with their Thesis faculty advisor.
